SOLDIER
Junior Sergeant of the Armenian Armed Forces Grigor Vardanyan was fatally wounded on Sunday.
The incident took place as a result of the violation of the rules for handling weapons at one of the combat positions of the military unit in the northeastern direction, the Armenian defense ministry reported.
An investigation is underway to clarify all the circumstances of the case.
PARLIAMENT
The Turkish parliament on Tuesday will discuss the issue of extending the mandate for Turkish military presence in Azerbaijan, Anadolu agency reported.
The bill, signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will be considered at a plenary session of the parliament.
DEMONSTRATION
Demonstration against November 2020 tripartite statement has been held in Yerevan.
It was mentioned during this protest that 27 political and non-governmental organizations have issued a statement and submitted a petition to the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia demanding to launch a criminal case against PM Nikol Pashinyan.
A ceremony to tear the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement—by the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan— was planned during this demonstration.
COVID-19
As of Monday morning, 810 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of these cases has reached 321,243 in the country.
Also, 30 more deaths from COVID-19 were registered, making the respective total 6,700 cases.
PREGNANT WOMAN
A case of death of a pregnant woman due to COVID-19 was registered last night in Armenia. Minister of health Anahit Avanesyan stated about this at the parliamentary standing committees’ joint debates Monday on the country’s draft state budget for 2022
According to her, the Delta strain of the coronavirus, in contrast to the other strains last year, is quite aggressive.
The minister added that pregnant women are at risk if they are infected with the above-mentioned strain, at the moment about 100 pregnant women are receiving hospital treatment in Armenia, and half of them have pneumonia.
