A pay transparency law went into effect Tuesday in New York City, where employers will now be required to include in job listings how much a position will pay. Julie Bauke, president and chief career strategist at The Bauke Group, said the law represents a shift away from the “taboo” of discussing workplace salaries and will aid in closing a gender pay gap.
