Recent data shows a massive influx of young patients seeking gender-affirming health care. From 2017 to 2021, more than 17,000 patients aged 6-17 had initiated hormone or puberty blockers. Most major American medical groups support gender-affirming treatment and procedures for children and adolescents who want it. But now, some prominent doctors in the field are urging the medical community to slow down.
