7:03Now PlayingA New York grand jury is deciding whether they want to indict former President Donald Trump in a hush-money case. While Trump said last week that he was going to be arrested on Tuesday, this has not happened. Meanwhile, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, is facing criticism over the probe from Republicans, who have sent him a letter asking for more information on the case.
Bragg’s office, though, says this is an ‘unlawful incursion’ into New York’s sovereignty.
Criminal defense attorney and legal analyst Bernarda Villalona said on “NewsNation Live” that not only are the GOP’s actions unlawful, they’re also premature.“There hasn’t been an indictment, and there hasn’t been an arrest, for the GOP to try to get involved into what’s going on in state matters,” Villalona said.
