5:23Now PlayingA Michigan Senate committee approved $175 million in state funds for a Chinese manufacturer’s controversial project in Green Charter Township. Gotion Inc., whose parent company is based in China, plans to build a $2 billion electric vehicle battery plant in the rural community of about 3,200. The township’s board appears to support Gotion’s plan, but some residents, including Lori Brock, aren’t convinced allowing the company in the area is a good idea. Brock says residents are being lied to about what the jobs will pay and the company's ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
