A former patient of a top Arkansas psychiatrist is among 25 others who claim they were held against their will at Northwest Medical Center. William VanWhy said the medical center staff would not let him leave, nor did he see a doctor the whole time he was forced to stay. The former patient had checked himself in but had to obtain a court order to finally be released after five days.
