In just a matter of days, new mental health courts will be coming to some major California counties, including Los Angeles and San Francisco. Civil care courts will allow people like family members or first responders to ask a county judge to order someone with a specified mental disorder into treatment even if they don’t want to go. Dr. Veronica Kelley, the behavioral health director for Orange County, joins “NewsNation Prime” to discuss the move.
