Last year, a 9-year-old California girl's family sued because deputies and fair officials in California had the girl’s pet goat slaughtered when she backed out of selling it an auction. Now, the California Attorney General’s office is countersuing, and asking that the original lawsuit be dismissed. Vanessa Shakib, the lawyer for the girl’s family, said at the heart of her client’s litigation is “government gone rogue.”
