"We knew that we needed to include the Bible directly into the classroom so that kids understood the full historical context of its role in American history," said Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters on NewsNation's "CUOMO."
Harvard law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz also weighed in, pressing Walters to say "which Bible" will be used and asking if other religious texts will be studied.
