6:23Now PlayingOfficials in South Carolina carried out the first firing squad execution in the U.S. in 15 years, killing 67-year-old Brad Sigmon, who was sentenced to death in 2002 for murder and burglary. "Nowhere does God in the New Testament give man the authority to kill another man," Sigmon had said in his final statement. Associated Press reporter Jeffrey Collins was a witness to the execution and explained what he saw, saying that Sigmon had a target over his heart when the curtain opened to reveal him strapped to a chair.
