12:23Now PlayingStephanie Turner was disqualified from a USA Fencing-sanctioned regional tournament after she refused to compete against transgender opponent Redmond Sullivan. USA Fencing's statement on the incident said the organization's responsibility is to ensure all athletes compete under the same rules and that "a fencer is not permitted to refuse to fence another properly entered fencer for any reason." Turner says the policy is "ridiculous" and that she doesn't get the option or any other avenue to refuse fencing.
