The 7-4 decision affirmed a lower court’s ruling that the tariffs were not authorized by the statute. NewsNation’s Vinay Simlot tells “NewsNation Live” the ruling would not go into effect until mid-October, so for now the tariffs will remain. The Trump administration can challenge this ruling by bringing it to the Supreme Court.
