3:09Now PlayingLeonard Luther Harris has witnessed 100 years of profound change — from a child, to a Black soldier in the U.S. Army, to a longtime educator. When reflecting on his life, Harris spoke about segregation, saying that it "wasn't enjoyable at all, but we tried to make the best of it."
He hopes today's youth will appreciate the progress made throughout the struggles of previous generations. Harris will turn 101 this year and credits his longevity to a positive attitude and spiritual strength.
