Conservative criticism is growing of California Governor Gavin Newsom after an appearance on his book tour where he was being interviewed by Atlanta’s Mayor Andre Dickens, who is African American, in front of a diverse audience. Newsom claimed “I’m like you” before saying he scored a 960 on the SAT, prompting cries of racism from conservatives who said he was attempting to relate to African Americans by downplaying his intelligence. Newsom defended the remarks by saying he was merely relaying his battle with dyslexia and that anyone could overcome similar challenges. The host of “The Aggressive Progressive” podcast, Chris Hahn, and former Trump White House communications staffer, Harrison Fields, joined “CUOMO” to debate the comments and whether they would impact a Newsom run for president in 2028.

Monday saw new fallout from the Epstein files as longevity influencer Dr. Peter Attia resigned his new contributor post at CBS News, and a former British ambassador to the U.S. was arrested and questioned in the U.K. after their ties to Epstein were recently revealed. South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace went to the Justice Department today to read unredacted Epstein files for the third time. She joined “CUOMO” with her plans to give the House Oversight Committee a list of people to investigate.

Mexican authorities killed the country’s most-wanted drug cartel kingpin, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, who led the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Gang members responded with widespread violence across Mexico, killing dozens and leaving tourists, including many Americans, stranded in the country as they wait for the violence to subside. Former CIA Special Agent Tracy Walder and former Drug Enforcement Administration Chief of International Operations Mike Vigil tell Chris Cuomo what this means for the war on cartels and if the U.S. could see any blowback from the killing.
