21:50Now PlayingThis week our "Missing" series looks at the case of Christopher Abeyta out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 7-month-old's parents were sleeping beside him when he was taken from his crib in the middle of the night. This week will mark 40 years since the disappearance. Although his parents have passed away, his sister is determined more than ever to bring him home.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tells us cases of infant abduction are extremely rare, with just over 340 confirmed cases reported in the United States in the last 60 years. NewsNation affiliates have tracked this story over the years, talking with those closest to the case, including the admission from Christopher’s father that sent the case into a tailspin. This week, Marni Hughes is joined by NCMEC's Angeline Hartmann. The pair speak about this case and the risk factors for infant abductions to be on the lookout for.
