Right now, many self-described “America First” voices are attacking U.S. strikes on Iran — often invoking the Iraq War as proof we should never act again.

But here’s what gets left out:

At the start of the Iraq War, roughly 75–80% of Americans supported the invasion.

Years later, after the occupation dragged on, after hundreds of thousands of troops were deployed and trillions were spent, many people began saying they were “against it from the beginning.”

The mistake in Iraq wasn’t the initial military success.

It was the prolonged occupation and nation-building.

If Iran is handled with limited, strategic objectives — not mass boots on the ground — that’s not repeating Iraq. That’s learning from it.

If this succeeds, watch how fast the narrative shifts.

Americans hate losing.

Americans love winning.
