Among them are today's guests, Nick Brokhausen (MACV-SOG and Detachment A), and Jeff Miller (Special Forces and Intelligence Operative for programs that [still] cannot be named).

Nick Brokhausen was a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier who served with the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG) during the Vietnam War. After completing a previous tour with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, he returned to Vietnam in 1970 and served until 1971. During this period, he was assigned to Recon Team Habu, operating under Command & Control North (CCN), one of the most perilous of the three MACV-SOG bases. Brokhausen's experiences with MACV-SOG are detailed in his memoirs, We Few: U.S. Special Forces in Vietnam and its sequel, Whispers in the Tall Grass. These works offer a firsthand account of the intense and often dangerous missions undertaken by SOG teams, providing insight into the challenges faced by special operations forces during the war. #MACVSOG was a highly classified, multi-service U.S. special operations unit tasked with conducting covert operations across Southeast Asia, including strategic reconnaissance, psychological warfare, and clandestine missions in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Jeff Miller is a seasoned U.S. Army Special Forces veteran and intelligence operative with extensive experience in both military and private sector operations. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) and worked with five different U.S. government agencies, including the CIA, FBI, and U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, on classified national security missions. Miller's operational expertise spans five active combat zones across the Middle East, the Balkans, East Asia, and Latin America. His specialties include high-risk hostage recovery, logistics in denied areas, and counterterrorism operations. He has also trained thousands of U.S. military personnel and corporate executives in areas such as negotiation, deception detection, and crisis management.

These proverbial "fun uncles" co-wrote a book entitled "Vagabonds: Tourists in the Heart of Darkness", in which they recount their experiences in the PMC world of private intelligence and global security operations, offering a firsthand account of their covert operations and the challenges they faced.
