YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIn October, NPR photographer David Gilkey spent a few weeks with the Army Medevac team known as Lucky Dustoff." They are members of the Armys 82nd Airborne Division, currently deployed in the southern region of Afghanistan, in Zabul Province. David spent time with the unit, both at their base and on missions, chronicling their attempt to treat the wounded and the sick, especially among the Afghan civilians. It is their hope that the care they bring will help win the battle for the Afghan hearts and minds that is critical to the success of the overall mission.
