Some Background Information:

Left ventricular hypertrophy is a strong risk factor for heart failure and sudden death. Athletes' hearts tend to enlarge as an adaptation to the physical stresses from their respective sports. The two conditions are similar in that both involve the heart enlarging, but one is a normal adaptation while the other is potentially life threatening.

In short, the approach developed in this project is like Moneyball. Given the same data, it extracts information of superior utility relative to methods of similar cost. Furthermore, the power of the method is comparable to that of much more expensive methods. Now that's a home run.
