Over two consecutive nights last week, Israeli airstrikes hit central Gaza, killing dozens of people, many of them children asleep when the bombs struck. A weapons expert reached by NPR says one of the bombs used in the attack is U.S. made. The death toll in Gaza over the past 14 months has surpassed at least 45,000 people killed, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
