Rescue teams continue to comb through the rubble in Afghanistan after a powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck the eastern part of the country late Sunday night, causing extensive damage and killing at least 1,400 people.

The earthquake comes as aid groups are already stretched thin after President Trump suspended most funding to Afghanistan, amid claims the Taliban was siphoning off some of it. The United States was the largest humanitarian donor to Afghanistan. The U.N. is appealing for emergency funds.
