China celebrated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with a highly choreographed military parade on Wednesday.

Troops marched in precise lockstep through Beijing’s Tiananmen Square as Chinese President Xi Jinping looked over events officially held to mark the 80th anniversary of the defeat of imperial Japan and the end of World War II. More than two dozen world leaders attended the event. On the reviewing stand, Xi was flanked by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
