"Just say no to power peeing," says pelvic floor physical therapist Sara Reardon. Pushing out your urine can lead to a weak pelvic floor. "You want to sit, relax and let it flow," she says.

Reardon is the author of "Floored: A Woman's Guide to Pelvic Floor Health at Every Age and Stage." She shares tips for supporting pelvic floor health through better bathroom habits:

- Don't force out your urine

- Don't hover

- Don't wait too long to pee

- Don't pee "just in case"

- Don't do Kegels mid-stream

- Don't strain when you poop

- Do sit down on the toilet, relax, and breathe

- Do go to the bathroom when you have the urge

- Do talk about pelvic floor health

- Do seek professional help if you're having pain or discomfort

For more tips on treating pelvic floor dysfunction and the basics of keeping your pelvic floor healthy and functioning, listen to the conversation with Sara Reardon (@the.vagina.whisperer) and Life Kit host Marielle Segarra (@MarielleLifeKit) at .
