It was an idolatrous land; yet here Abraham sojourned by faith, believing that as it was promised, the land would belong to him and his descendants. Abraham wasn’t trusting Christ to take him out of the land, he was trusting Christ to give him the land. So too, all God's people are sojourners in this world.
