Low-T Pastors, Alistair Begg, & the Rise of Donald Trump

While grace does not destroy nature, plummeting testosterone levels in men in the West, especially in ministers, are rapidly leaving little nature left for grace to restore. In stark contrast to the effeminacy common in evangelical men, many emerging right-wing figureheads, despite being un-regenerate, are calling out our societal decay with clarity, courage, and conviction that is sorely lacking from most Christian leaders. The nomination of Donald Trump for the third consecutive presidential election confirms that this assertive, masculine style deeply resonates with his conservative audience that are desperate for strong leadership. Will evangelicals find the conviction to be men of action and bravery like Phineas and lead the charge against clown-world, or will they remain content with safe, soft-spoken men like Allister Begg to carefully steward the decline of the West? As Aristotle once said of ancient Sparta: “The want of men was their ruin.”
