YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe topic of modesty, especially in women's dress, is highly contentious. Suggestions from men in particular that certain attire may conflict with scriptural mandates often provokes accusations of legalism and misogyny. Then, others who understand scripture's clear instructions on modesty but hesitate to apply them will attempt to equivocate and apply these guidelines universally by treating the temptation of immodesty as equally prevalent among both men and women. But overlooking the significance of modesty or attempting to dilute its application to a generic androgynous command is not appropriate for the Christian. It is crucial for Christian leaders, and particularly husbands, fathers, and pastors, to articulate God’s intentions for men, women, and human sexuality with clarity and precision. The issue is greater than simply private sins or indiscretion at the level of the heart. As commitment to God’s standards wanes, history shows that societies perish under the weight of their own indulgence, lack of self-control, and permissiveness. Tune in now as we discuss modesty and why it matters.
