DNA forensic evidence can help solve crimes -- convict the guilty and exonerate those wrongfully accused. Senator Saland is the Senate sponsor of the all crimes DNA law. He has been working toward this all inclusive method to enhance public safety since the 90's. New York is the first state to go full out to collect DNA from all people convicted of a felony and misdemeanor. Senator Saland thinks other states will follow New York's lead in the national effort to fight crime.
