By collecting all different kinds of plankton during our first leg of our Around Africa Expedition with OceanQuest, researchers can get insight into whether the waters are productive and have a likelihood of marine life. But the science doesn't stop once departing OceanXplorer. The plankton samples will continue to be studied off ship to learn even more about the areas of the ocean they were sampled from.
