YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhat does it take to tell the story of the ocean in a new way? In the middle of the sea, we brought a group of immersive media creators onto our OceanXplorer to do just that.
During our 2nd Hackathon, they each faced real-time challenges -- technical, creative, and human. And in the process, they uncovered new ways to bring ocean data to life.
They used tools to:
– Build a custom Minecraft map to help students learn about science through exploration (@minecraft)
– Create an interactive Fortnite Island where players can discover submarines, ROVs, and the OceanXplorer (@fortnite)
– Visualize data, simulate physics, and create immersive experiences by using Unreal Engine (@UnrealEngine)
Each project asked a simple but profound question: What if anyone—anywhere—could experience the deep?
This is what happens when imagination meets mission.
