Tensions between the United States and Iran escalated after a series of drone and missile exchanges in the region. U.S. officials said recent strikes on a missile site were defensive in nature, taken after intelligence suggested an imminent threat to American forces and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard reportedly targeted a U.S. air base in Kuwait and launched drones, several of which were intercepted by U.S. forces.

Despite the retaliation, a U.S. official insisted the operation did not violate or derail the existing ceasefire framework, describing it as a limited defensive action. Conflicting reports continue to emerge from both sides regarding attacks, shipping disruptions, and alleged agreements, while the White House has rejected claims of a draft deal as inaccurate.
