In 2018, the retired Navy SEAL Chief was charged with murder after being accused of killing a wounded ISIS prisoner, with several members of his own platoon testifying against him — but in 2019, he was acquitted of the murder charge and most other counts. Today, Gallagher fights for other warfighters and first responders he believes are unfairly targeted, through his nonprofit, the Pipe Hitter Foundation. His latest effort centers on Green Beret Master Sergeant Gannon Van Dyke, who was involved in the January operation that captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. Federal prosecutors allege Van Dyke then used nonpublic information about that mission to wager roughly $33,000 on a prediction market, generating more than $400,000 in profits — what prosecutors describe as a case of insider trading. Van Dyke has pleaded not guilty. Now, Eddie Gallagher joins Alicia Summers to discuss.
