2:17Now PlayingTrump-backed Republican candidates are advancing toward the November midterm elections after key primary victories in South Carolina and Oklahoma.
Senator Darlene Graham won the GOP Senate nomination in South Carolina, defeating Representative Ralph Norman in Tuesday’s runoff. Graham had been appointed to serve the remainder of her late brother Lindsey Graham’s Senate term and received President Donald Trump’s endorsement for a full term.
In Oklahoma, Trump-backed businessman Mike McCarthy Massey narrowly won the Republican gubernatorial runoff, defeating Attorney General Gentner Drummond by less than one percentage point.
Massey, who received Trump’s endorsement in May, says he will focus on protecting Oklahoma’s values, cutting taxes and strengthening schools. He says his decisions as governor will be guided by the Bible, the Constitution and whether the state can afford them.
