For teams that go deep in the World Cup, or any such tournament, it means being away from home, with the same group of people, for weeks on end. So how do athletes cope? What are the challenges? And what can be done to alleviate the mental fatigue, retain team spirit and lead to success?

Dr Alex Twitchen, of The Open University's sport and exercise department, himself an experienced coach and coach developer, talk abut 'life in the bubble' of a World Cup squad, and why some players are maybe just not cut out for a place in the squad in such tournaments.
