Clay Travis said Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton needs to become a passing quarterback because Cam Newton is not going to be able to run forever. That was evidenced last night in the Saints vs Panthers game on Monday Night Football.
Further Clay Travis said -- on both Outkick the Show and his radio program Outkick the Coverage -- said one shouldn't blame his wide receivers for Cam Newton's troubles. Clay Travis said the great quarterbacks usually don't have the best wide receivers.
Clay Travis said New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady only had -- for a short period of time -- Randy Moss. Clay Travis said New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has never had a great wide receiver. And combos like San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice is the exception not the rule.
Clay Travis also said if Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera is playing Cam Newton injured -- as Cam Newton was playing last night in Monday Night Football, then Ron Rivera should be fired. There is no specific word on a Cam Newton injury. If there is a Cam Newton injury, Clay Travis said you shouldn't blame the Cam Newton injury on his inability to play.
The Carolina Panthers looked like a playoff team. Now they are no longer a playoff team. Part of the problem has been Panthers QB Cam Newton.
