22:23Now PlayingOn today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis discussed the situation with the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, as Zion Williamson is still sitting after his Nike blew out a couple of weeks ago and caused a knee injury. Clay’s “conspiracy theory” is that this is a foreshadowing of the end of his college career. It appears, said Travis, that Coach K is keeping this announcement from the media because he wants to ultimately earn the number one seed (without Zion) as they go into the national tournament later this month. Duke will play their rival, North Carolina, this Saturday, and Coach K said Zion’s chances of playing are slim. Clay Travis said he believes Coach K and Duke need to be held accountable, and shouldn’t always automatically get the number one seed heading into March Madness. It is also conspicuous, said Travis, that Zion has not been made available to speak to the media.
Clay Travis also listed his top four number-one seeds heading into March Madness, with his top number one seed being Virginia. Tennessee is his number two, number-one seed, Gonzaga is his third, with Kentucky as his fourth.
Clay went on to discuss the drama surrounding Kyler Murray and the draft. The left-wing, woke media has blown up over Charley Casserly’s anonymous source who said Murray did not do well on the board at the Combine. Travis made it clear that the sports media has overblown the story, and is reminiscent of the Josh Allen story from last season’s draft. It seemed as if this was an attempt at black ops/psychological warfare from a team interested in seeing him slip down the draft board amidst the controversy. Clay said he believes the Murray story is much like that. Casserly, said Travis, will be bombarded with accusations of racism because Murray is black. The Bastille, said Travis, will be stormed, and his prosthetic heel theory is alive and well—and being perpetuated among others.
Clay continued by addressing the insanity of the R. Kelly interview on CBS. R. Kelly is what Michael Jackson would have become, said Travis.
Finally, Clay finished by announcing the recent report regarding the ratings for his Outkick the Coverage morning radio show on Fox Sports. Clay recognized three markets in particular, thanking them for the dramatic increase, with Los Angeles up 420%, Kansas City up 400%, in Nashville up over 100%.
