The AAF demonstrated, however, there is high demand for spring football, and there are going to be XFL games aired on major networks and the league will be well-distributed, said Travis. The financially strapped AAF came to Vince McMahon about a merge, Clay said, but McMahon decided it wasn’t a good move for his league. Clay believes the XFL will be a huge success and will prove to be a strong option for younger, developing players before they advance to the NFL. It will also prove to be a lucrative gambling format, said Travis.
Clay Travis then went on to share his opinion on the University of Kentucky’s head basketball coach John Calipari and his exorbitant salary. John Calipari just negotiated a new contract with Kentucky, after pseudo-entertaining another offer from UCLA, and will now continue to make far more money than he should earn as a college basketball coach, in Clay’s opinion. Calipari’s salary, as it compares to other NCAA coaches, represents a nonsensical economic strategy for the university. The numbers just don’t add up, said Travis, and he is the most overrated and overpaid coach in America. Calipari’s salary is like AOC’s New Green Deal brought to NCAA sports. The numbers just don’t add up.
Clay shared two airtight sports gambling picks for the upcoming NFL season: take the OVER at 9 wins for the Indianapolis Colts, and the UNDER at 8.5 wins for the embattled Baltimore Ravens.
