Democratic debate: live reaction

On tonight’s special edition of Outkick the Show, Clay Travis posted a reaction a video following the first democratic debate leading to the 2020 election.

Clay Travis talked about the ten candidates on stage and evaluated their performances during the debate. While Beto O’Rourke was the least compelling but most scripted, and guilty of “trying too hard,” the two most reasonable candidates, according to Travis, were Tulsi Gabbard and John Delaney.

The industrial midwest will ultimately decide the 2020 presidential race, said Travis, and the democratic primary is about trying to find the best candidate to deliver the rustbelt states. Amy Klobuchar and Tim Ryan, however, were the only debaters who took the time to point this out.

Clay Travis pointed out that the Democratic Party has shifted to an anti-capitalistic organization and was shocked to hear how many jabs were taken at corporations.

“Where do people think jobs come from? The government can’t employ everyone. We need dynamic, capitalistic growth in this country in order for employment to occur. Demonizing corporations in a capitalistic society makes no sense.”

Clay Travis summed up the debate by identifying four candidates who have a reasonable chance to be nominated by their party in the primary process: Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and possibly Mayor Pete…who is quickly fading. And while the media is desperately fighting to turn this into an interesting and compelling battle, the race is really just a contest between Trump and Biden.
