Clay believes the Patriots dynasty is now over and the Titans were the team to end their “reign of terror over the NFL and sports.” Clay believes the Baltimore Ravens will defeat the Titans in the next round, but there’s a strong chance Tennessee will keep it close and have a chance.
Clay Travis also discussed the Houston Texans and their win over the Buffalo Bills on wildcard weekend where they “Clemson-Tigered” their way to victory. Deshaun Watson’s “someone had to be great; why not me” quote was particularly great, added Travis.
Clay Travis then called the Vikings’ win the biggest upset of the weekend, and Kirk Cousins’ constant criticism by the media and NFL fans was was redeemed in his first playoffs win. Clay also wondered what has happened to the New Orleans Saints’ running back Alvin Kamara.
Clay Travis then commented on the Seattle Seahawks’ win over the Philadelphia Eagles, and zeroed in on the helmet-to-helmet hit from DE Jadeveon Clowney on QB Carson Wentz. “The NFL needs to do a better job of handling egregious penalties in those situations moving forward,” said Travis.
Tua Tagovailoa’s decision to go pro was next on Clay Travis’ slate, and Clay believes it is the right decision. Clay then speculated on where the Alabama QB might end up in the draft.
Clay Travis then shared his thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys’ firing of Jason Garrett and the immediate hiring of Mike McCarthy after a sleepover at Jerry Jones’ house.
Clay Travis also shared his unbounded joy for Ricky Gervais’ monologue that torched Hollywood last night during the Golden Globe Awards. This, said Travis, is the ideal example of “speaking truth to power.”
Finally, Clay Travis shared his disgust for Colin Kaepernick’s “insanely stupid” political position of deciding to defend terrorists with his “ignorant” tweet over the weekend. “Colin Kaepernick is the biggest fraud and the biggest sham of sports,” said Travis.
