Kids need to be back in schools, Desean vs Brees reaction, Stephen Jackson, MLS back, Jimmie Johnson

On today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis shared more positive and underreported news on the coronavirus front.

Clay Travis continued by lobbying for the return of school, calling it imperative for kids to be back in school this fall. Clay contrasted the necessity for underprivileged kids to return to campus with kids who have educated and/or affluent families. “Kids need to be back in school. If you have a child under 15 years old, your child is 20 times more likely to die of the flu than the coronavirus. If you are a teacher who is afraid to return to work, then it is your right to stay home.”

Clay Travis also discussed the stupid comments coming from NFL player DeSean Jackson. Clay compared the online outrage from NFL players following Drew Brees’ patriotic comments with the crickets following Jackson’s blatant anti-semitic hatred, exposing the hypocrisy of NFL players and the sports media. “Not one current NFL player has blasted DeSean Jackson for his blatant anti-semitism. Compare that to how the entire NFL treated Drew Brees for having the audacity for saying he stands for the anthem. There are clearly different standards for different people.”

Clay Travis went on to comment on another NFL player named Stephen Jackson who posted a rambling and moronic video attempting to defend Desean Jackson. Clay called both men out on their need to be victims. “Somebody explain to me how Stephen Jackson can be a leader of a social justice organization and not condemn anti-semitism. All of this is a sham; it’s a house of cards. It’s not about trying to make the world a better place, it’s about trying to be a victim.”

Clay Travis also talked about NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson and his return to the sport following his brief stint with the coronavirus. Clay called out the media for overreacting to people who have tested positive for the coronavirus. “Jimmie Johnson’s return reminds us we are overrating what will happen when athletes actually test positive for the coronavirus. They can be back in less than a week. The coronavirus for most athletes will be less significant than a sprained ankle.”

Clay Travis also praised Mike Golic for his 20-year run on ESPN Radio. “I want to applaud Mike Golic for his 20 years of radio and for doing it well. He deserves a lot of commendation and I give him a ton of credit; it is not an easy job.”

Clay Travis concluded by giving his nod of approval to MLS for returning today and is excited to see other sports follow suit soon. “MLS is back today and this is good for all sports. I’m not a soccer guy, but I do salute them for being the first league back. Sports will be back, cooler heads will ultimately prevail, and reasonableness will triumph.”
