Maajid Nawaz opens by stating he considers himself a radical. He outlines his past as having once hated America. He worked trying to overthrow governments that were considered American allies; he instigated military coos, recruited army officers from as far as Pakistan and went to Egypt to agitate against Hosni Mubarak -- Americans once best friend. He was abducted, tortured and served in the prison where Hosni Mubarak is currently being held.
He says that he is on the proposition because the opposition has falling foul of the simple principal that individuals are responsible for their actions, failures in policy are lead by those who run that policy and ideals in principal are distinct from that.
He goes on to make several points about race.
