Bill Cash, described as "one of the most Eurosceptic MPs in Parliament", delivers perhaps the most sentimental speech of the evening. He recalls how his father had fought and been killed in Normandy in 1944. His father had "died for democracy and liberty of all", for all political parties, for each and every resident of Britain. Patriotism, he pointed out, is just a "practical application" of the values that we support and defend.

William Nigel Paul "Bill" Cash is a British Conservative politician and Member of Parliament for Stone. Cash is a prominent Eurosceptic in the House of Commons and is famous for leading the Maastricht Rebellion against John Major's government. Cash was the founder of the Maastricht Referendum Campaign in the early 1990s, and is now the Chair of the European Scrutiny Committee.
