The Motion: This House Would Not Wear The Red Poppy
Harry Leslie Smith closes the case for the proposition, as the fifth speaker of six in the debate.
The motion was defeated by 241 votes to 93.
Harry Leslie Smith is a former RAF serviceman, serving in WWII. Known for his speech at the 2014 Labour Party Conference, he wrote for The Guardian about why he no longer wears the Red Poppy.
