As the first non-partisan president of Kosovo, Jahjaga faced many battles to better her recently war-torn country. Even before accessing the highest functions of state, she rose to Major General in the Kosovar police, a largely male dominated institution. Jahjaga embodies the promise of a better world through her actions and achievements in fighting against gender inequality, extremism and for global integration.
