Milo Đukanović was elected President of the Democratic Party of Socialists in 1998, and Prime Minister for the first time on February 15th 1991, on his 29th birthday. He was the youngest Prime Minister in Europe. He served seven terms as Prime Minister and was elected as President for the first time in 1998. He led the referendum campaign for Montenegro to become independent in 2006 and was elected President again in May 2018.
