Shahid Khaqan Abbasi served as Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2017 to May 2018, and is a senior member of the country’s centre-right Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). During his short yet busy term, Abbasi announced a tax reforms package, created seven new Ministries, including the Ministry of Energy and aimed to tackle the deep-rooted financial issues of the Pakistani power sector.
