Christie is an American politician, lobbyist, and political commentator, who served as Governor of New Jersey from 2011 to 2019. In 2016, he mounted an unsuccessful campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, before endorsing Donald Trump and serving as head of the Trump transition planning team. He ranked among the least popular governors in the US during his second term, following the Fort Lee lane closure scandal (‘Bridgegate’).
