Mike Schroepfer is an entrepreneur, technical architect and manager who has been the chief technology officer (CTO) at Facebook since March 2013. He previously had been Vice President of Engineering since July 2008. In his role as CTO he makes decisions for the overarching technology infrastructure that closely align with the organization's goals. He therefore has a vast influence over Facebook’s future structure, capabilities and direction. As we grapple with the impact of social media on our privacy, politics and more in the twenty-first century, hearing him speak will be a timely guide to one of the organisations that most shapes our modern world.
