In the two years since, the country has been faced with lockdowns, Brexit shockwaves, and the mass evacuation of British Citizens and allies, as Afghanistan fell after two decades of conflict. With the relaxation of lockdown restrictions, the U-turn on National Insurance, and new trading and defence partnerships causing fractures across the international community, we ask in our traditional opening debate of the year: should we have confidence in Her Majesty’s Government?
