George Takei is an American actor, author, and activist best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu in the popular television series Star Trek. His acting career has spanned five decades, and he has starred in more than forty feature fillms. He is an avid campaigner for social justice, LGBT rights, and marriage equality. He has also received several accolades for his work to improve Japanese-American relations, including being awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by HM The Emperor of Japan
