Neurodiversity has traditionally been seen as a taboo issue. Over time, we have been able to understand learning differences much more, and in turn what adjustments people need. Through this panel, we delve into the lives of neurodiverse individuals who have achieved success across a variety of fields. It will explore how living with neurodiversity in a world designed for neurotypicality often brings both gifts, such as a unique perspective, as well as challenges, from stigma to discrimination. The panel will chare their personal stories and strategies in overcoming detrimental stereotypes and rising to the top of their careers, as well as discuss what the future looks like. Is a world where many kinds of minds are accepted and valued finally here, or is the pace of change still too slow?

Speakers:

Pravina Rudra –

Pravina Rudra is a comment editor and columnist at the New Statesman. She has worked at the Evening Standard, The Telegraph, The Spectator and the Sunday Times.

Kate Fox –

Kate Fox is a stand-up poet, broadcaster and speaker. She has performed on BBC1 and BBC2, as well as being Poet in Residence for the Great North Run, Glastonbury Festival and Radio 4’s Saturday Live.
